Course rules

Evaluation from the tutorial class to the course Microeconomics I:

The grade from the tutorial class is determined by your result from:

• a written final test (70%)
• other activities – entry short tests, homework, activity during classes and class participation (30%).

To pass the tutorial you must fulfill two requirements:

• score = 70 * (score from final test (%)) + scores from other activities ≥ 50
• at least 50% of points from the final test

Final test

• Final test is in a written form and contains 4 open questions.
• Final test will take place on the last classes (23 January 2019).
• The final test retake is held after the first term of the exam and before the second term of the exam.
• Absence at the final test (on the required date) results in failing the tutorials.
• There are no other possibilities (neither new dates nor rules) for passing the tutorial.
• All tests are organized according to the rules of "Zero tolerance for cheating".

Other activities (max. 30 points):

• Entry short tests (max. 12 points)
• Homework (max 12 points)
• Class participation (max 2 points)
• Activity during classes (max 4 points)

Entry short tests

• 6 entry short tests announced week earlier (each max 2 points)
• An entry short test may cover any material discussed in classes and in lectures so far, with the emphasis put on the most recent classes and lectures.
• All forms of tasks in the entry short tests are possible: problems to solve, multiple choice questions, true/false questions, etc.
• Absence at an entry short test results in zero points from the entry short test.
• There is no retake of entry short tests.

Homework

• 6 homework (each max 2 points)
• Given in written form during classes
• Two weeks to prepare
• There is no retake of homework
• All materials to prepare homework will be given on the website

Other points

• Class participation

  • 0 absences: 2 points
  • 1 absence: 1 point
  • > 1 absence: 0 points

• Activity during classes - points for solving the task on the board

  • For solving the task: 0.5 point
  • During one class you can get max 2 points
