Advanced Microeconomics class on 23.01.2013

On 23.01.2013 at 8:00 we will start some examples in General Equilibrium Modelling. The class will continue (with a break) until 11:20. If you want to follow the examples, bring your computer. There should be enough power sockets to work comfortably without worrying about batteries.

If you want to work on your own computer, install GAMS from this link

http://d37drm4t2jghv5.cloudfront.net/distributions/24.0.1/windows/windows_x86_32.exe

before coming to class. The internet might not work in room B. Also, you will need all the example GAMS codes I put on my website – download them and save on you hard drive:

Please note that this material is to increase your understanding of what we did so far and show you the ways to use the theory in economic policy analysis. Even though this is not required on the exam, I encourage you to come to the last class.

Advanced Micro Exam Grading Rules

I keep getting a lot of questions about the grades for Advanced Micro.

For my part YOU HAVE TO GET 50% OF POINTS FROM THE MIDTERM AND FINAL COMBINED and NOT from both final and midterm. The grade in the result list is only TENTATIVE.

If you DID NOT GET 50% from the midterm, you can still take the final, BUT you will have to get more than 50% from the final, so you get 50% of the overall number of points.

Everybody has two attempts for the final (one on February the 6th and one in the retake examination session in March).
