About me

I am an assistant professor at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, University of Warsaw.

My research focus is on international migration, migration policy, migrant self-selection by their skills, and, more generally, economic modelling. I develop rigorous economic models to derive testable predictions regarding such issues as the relationship between migration policy and migrant self-selection, the degree of income redistribution by the government and the inflow of low-skilled migrants, or a comparison of welfare effects for the natives of alternative migration policies. Currently, I work on the topic of seasonal migration, in particular I explore a new possible explanation for why some choose to migrate seasonally even when the option to migrate permanently is available to them.

I teach Demography at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In previous years I also taught academic writing and microeconomics.
