Programy międzynarodowe
Applications are open for the University of Sussex International Junior Research Associate Scheme
The IJRA is a pioneering programme that aims to develop future research leaders by supporting talented and ambitious undergraduates to undertake supervised research at Sussex during the summer. IJRA participants work on a project for eight weeks, providing them with the opportunity to engage with distinguished researchers and develop invaluable academic skills and networks. They also present their research to supervisors and other senior academics at a University showcase reception.
We would like to offer one student from your university a place on the scheme for the coming summer.
Programme Dates: 1st July to 23rd August 2024
Sussex will support the selected student by:
- waiving fees for the programme
- waiving fees for University accommodation
- providing a programme of free campus social events and activities
- providing free training workshops
Pre-application request for subject areas of interest:
As part of our process of finalising specific project topics, we are seeking input from you about your broad subject areas of interest (eg. ‘Psychology’, ‘Economics’ or ‘Drama and Theatre’). These themes should align roughly to an academic discipline at both your insitution and the University of Sussex. We will then work to find projects related to your expressed area of interest.
Application process:
Sussex Global Engagement will work to finalise specific projects that will be available for your students to apply to as part of the formal application process. Students will be required to submit the following documents as part of their application. (The project is open to second and third year students only).
- CV
- One page covering letter addressing a particular project, why they are interested in the programme, relevant skills and experience, and future career interests
- Academic transcript
A couple of other key points:
- Students (or their home university) will need to fund their travel to Sussex and other subsistence/living costs for eight weeks additional to the waived costs for University accommodation. A guide to living costs at Sussex can be found here;
- Applicants would need a minimum GPA or equivalent of 3.0, and meet English language requirements and any pre-requisites that may be listed with the attached research project;
- The scheme is not credit bearing
